What we test

Laboratory-grade roof diagnostics

Objective, instrument-based testing that tells building owners and managers what a walk-around inspection cannot.

01

Roof Moisture Surveys

Non-destructive surveys locate trapped moisture and wet insulation within the roof assembly. Every survey concludes with a detailed written report, findings, and a color graph outlining problem areas.

Non-destructive
02

Wind Uplift Testing

Field testing of a roof system’s resistance to wind uplift forces, which concentrate at perimeters and corners and can compromise the entire assembly.

ASTM E-907
03

Fastener Uplift Testing

Withdrawal-resistance testing determines whether mechanical fasteners provide sufficient uplift resistance for the roof assembly and helps establish fastener-spacing requirements.

Withdrawal resistance
04

De-saturation Testing

Evaluation of moisture-laden roof components to determine the degree of saturation and whether affected areas can be dried, repaired, or must be replaced.

Moisture assessment
05

Project Management

Independent oversight of roofing projects — from specification and scope through construction observation — protecting the owner’s interests at every phase.

06

Forensic Roof Analysis

Investigative analysis to determine the cause, origin, and extent of roof failures and water intrusion, documented with objective test data.

Cause & origin
Why non-destructive testing

Measure the roof. Don’t guess at it.

Moisture is the enemy of a compact roofing system, and it hides where the eye can’t see it. Our surveys find wet insulation while the affected area is still small — so problems can be isolated and repaired instead of triggering a full, premature tear-off.

  • A detailed written report with findings and recommendations on every project.
  • A color graph that maps problem areas across the roof, if any are found.
  • Independent results — we test and consult; we don’t sell you a re-roof.
The deliverable

Your roof, mapped by data

Every survey concludes with documentation you can act on and defend — a written report of conditions, recommendations for repair or replacement, and a color-coded moisture map that pinpoints exactly where water has entered the system.

Roof Moisture Surveys have proven to be a very effective method for improving the long-term performance and reducing the life-cycle cost of roofing systems. It is generally agreed that it is technically unwise and fiscally irresponsible to develop plans for the maintenance, repair, or replacement of a roof without first conducting a Roof Moisture Survey.
